In the cathedrals of the main cities in Spain you´ll find part of the history of each of these cities, as well as important works of art of incredible value. Barcelona of course isn´t any different. Just as Palma, Madrid, Malaga, Seville, Granada, Burgos and Santiago have their important cathedrals, Barcelona isn´t any different. The Cathedral dates back to the 13th century, and is one of the most emblamatic structures in the city. This cathedral is a mixture of gothic elements and barroque chapels. It´s facade dates back to the 14th century, but the cathedral itself dates all the way back to the 13th. It is for this reason that this emblematic building has aquired elements with every passing century. The face measures 70 meters in height, very impressing. The choir chairs, board room, San Eulalia Crypt and the different chapels, etc...Definately a sight to see while visiting the Costa Brava in Spain. |
