If there is a monument that is not to be missed when on holiday in Barcelona, Spain, it´s the Sagrada Familia. Though there are also many monuments that are important in this city such as the master work of Antoni Gaudi, which is a symbol of Catalonnian modernism. Barcelona, Spain is a city full of amazing monuments to see. Without a doubt, the Sagrada Familia shouldn´t be missed. It is a massive temple that was constructed at the end of the 19th century by architect Antoni Gaudi. Modernism, Art Nouveau, the San Bernabe Tower, all were created by him. Gaudi left the Sagrada Familia still unfinished at his death, but others continued to build it until Spain´s Civil War, when most of this master work was destroyed. Architects Francesc Quintana, Puig Boada, and Lluis Bonet Gari continued the reconstruction of the church after the war. Today the Sagrada Familia is still under construction. One of its main walls has been named a patrimony to humanity by UNESCO.
Continuing the cultural route, you should see the Gran Teatro del Liceo, constructed over 150 years ago. It has been visited by some of the most important and famous artists in the world, and is a symbol of Catalnoian Aristocracy.
Another great Catalonian monument is the Cathedral of Barcelona, called the Catedral de la Santa Cruz, and is the gothic cathedral of Barcelona and one of the most important if its era. The temple was built in the 15th century.
