Catalonia is synonym of richness, and of numerous possibilities. It is a lively city with so many interesting spots to visit. In no more than a few hours distance you have a wide range of activities to participate in. The Monteserrat Sierra is an interesting spot to visit, as well as the Benedictino Monestary dating back to the 11th century. The Virgin of Monteserrat is the Paton Saint of Barcelona, in Spain.
From Monteserrat you can travel to Vall de Nuria, a corner in the Pyrnees where the height gives it´s own personality. Intense snow storms and panoramic views of more than 3000 meters in height. Definately a sight to see.
In Figueras you can visit the museum dedicated to Salvador Dali, one of the catalonian artists best known around th entire world. Other important and well known artist are also Joan Miro, and Antonio Gaudi. The Dali Museum is the second most visited museum in Spain.
The Costa Brava has incredible beaches. The Costa Dorada has beautiful and not less important beaches as well. They are special places to visit, like Sitges known for it´s Film Festival, Reus, Roses with it´s aquatic sports, San Pere Pescador, etc...If there is a "must see" in Barcelona it´s Port Aventura one of the most important theme parks in the world.
If you are a nature lover, a visit to the Natural Park of Sant Llorenc del Munt is a great option for this. It has the Montseny reserve and it´s located 50kms in the northeast direction from Barcelona. |
