No visit to Barcelona, Spain is complete without seeing the Sagrada Familia ( the Sacred Family ), which was the work of Antoni Gaudi, Master architect and main pusher of Catalonian modernism. After Spain´s Civil War, part of the temple of the Sagrada Familia was destroyed. Architects Francesc Quintana, Puig Boada, and Lluis Bonet Gari have continued building the Sagrada Familia and are still building today. In 2005, the main front wall of the monument was declared a Patrimony to Humanity by UNESCO. |
